Juliet Awarded 2nd Place for Oral Presentation

Oct 17, 2019

Juliet Pilewskie, along with others in the group, attended the NOAA Joint Satellite Conference from September 30 to October 4 2019. While there, Juliet was awarded 2nd place in the student oral presentation competition for her research on convective behavior and radiative responses. Juliet researches these responses in different environments that are defined by large-scale ascent versus descent. She studies this using passive and active satellite observations from the A-Train (CloudSat, CALIPSO, and Aqua), geostationary IR cloud top temperatures from the PATMOS-x climate record, and reanalyses. This presentation was the culmination of Juliet's Master's thesis, which she completed earlier this year.
