Anne Sophie Attends Himalayan Conference
Anne Sophie recently attended the "Himalayan Studies Conference 2017" thanks to a professional development award from our university. The conference was held in Boulder, CO in early September and focused on a variety of subjects related to the Himalayas. Topics for sessions ranged from "A yogi and a yeti walk into a bar" to "Climate change vulnerability and adaptation in Tibet and the Himalayas" featuring speakers from around the world.
Anne Sophie presented a new methodology for risk assessment being carried out in the Himalayas by integrating ethnographic data, climate, agro-ecosystem and agent-based models outputs. This work is part of project she works with that is called "Climate Change at the Third Pole: Impact on climate, agriculture and people".
