Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences
University of Wisconsin-Madison
Remote from Minneapolis, MN
MS Topic: Investigating the PREFIRE Intersections
BS Major: Meteorology (2021)
I joined the department in the fall of 2021 after receiving my B.S. in Meteorology from St. Cloud State University. In 2024, I graduated from UW-Madison with my M.S. in Atmospheric Science, having spent over three years as a student on the Polar Radiant Energy in the Far-InfraRed Experiment (PREFIRE) science team. My thesis sought to characterize the anticipated orbit resampling or “intersections” of PREFIRE and investigate how important surface and atmospheric processes may be strategically analyzed via the mission’s novel resampling. Since graduating, I have remained on the PREFIRE team as a research intern, continuing my work on orbit resampling while working with other members of the team to develop PREFIRE satellite products, including 3-SFC-SORTED as well as an upcoming intersection product.
Fun fact: I have a tattoo of the CALIPSO satellite on my wrist!
