Professor L'Ecuyer Named CIMSS Director

On January 1, 2019 Professor L'Ecuyer became director of the Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies (CIMSS). Located within the Atmospheric, Oceanic, and Space Sciences building at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, CIMSS conducts cutting edge research, provides critical satellite services, educates the scientists and engineers of the future, and provides outreach to the public in support of NOAA's core mission. Professor L'Ecuyer will seek to carry on CIMSS' proud 40-year tradition of leadership in satellite-based research and engineering, vital services, and innovative applications at CIMSS and continue to build bridges with the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, across the UW campus, with industry partners, and to other labs agencies both nationally and internationally.
